VRX reported earnings today and had a buyable gap up. Since then, it has retraced all its gain and appears to be reversing. One should always have their stops in place. Conservative investors may opt to sell as it undercuts the sideways consolidation that started on April 24. Less conservative investors may use penetration of the 50-day moving average as their sell guide. Aggressive investors may use a violation of the 50-day moving average as their sell guide (a violation occurs when the stock closes under the moving average then moves below the low of that close on subsequent days). Regardless of which type of investor you are, always make sure your sell stop represents a loss that is within your risk tolerance levels.
