As O'Neil always taught, it is better to find the best names in the strongest sectors and pyramid into those while selling off your weaker holdings. That was O'Neil's signature style and enabled him to achieve more years with triple digit percentage returns that nearly anyone else in stocks. He had the most memorable stories of pyramiding Amgen, Pic n Save, and Syntex, among countless others during major bull markets. We adopted this approach when we traded for him in the 1990s into the 2000s, achieving the top two performance records at the firm out of the hand picked renowned traders.
