We have been asked why share our trading strategies with others.

We love what we do too much to ever really retire even though we technically retired after the new millenium.

We love teaching others how to find their own path when it comes to being a successful trader. We believe risking money amplifies one's personal strengths and weaknesses. This financial journey is similar to a spiritual journey. One must know oneself. One must know how their ego often dictates their actions. As one evolves as a person both mentally and spiritually, one often finds other aspects of their lives improving. They might find their relationships and finances improving, as two of several examples. We believe we are here to help others reach their full potential. And by teaching others, we learn. It is always a two-way street. We will never stop being students. 

Also, by sharing our trading strategies, we each sometimes get important feedback that helps us fine-tune our respective strategy so we all benefit. We have always had this open door policy when it comes to the sharing of ideas, after all, ideas beget ideas.

In the 1990s, I taught anyone who wanted to know exactly how I trade the markets. It certainly did not affect my profitability.

James Altucher calls the sharing of ideas "idea sex". He is vocally transparent with his timely and sometimes controversial written pieces he shares on the internet. He, too, already made his millions so doesn't have to work.

But that sort of retirement seems like a death sentence.
