Q: After reading your "Market Lab Report - QE ∞ : $6 Trillion in Spending Fuels QEndless, Bitcoin, Stocks, Bonds, Real Estate", specifically, the line:
"...Based on historical cycles in the economy, we are at the tipping point of the long-term debt cycle which averages roughly 75-100 years based on extensive studies done by Ray Dalio who founded Bridgewater, the largest fund in the U.S...."
IMO - Ray Dalio, while having written some on the topic, is receiving credit for the real work done by: Reinhart and Rogoff - "THIS TIME IS DIFFERENT- Eight Centuries of Financial Folly"('09), and Stauss and Howe- "The Fourth Turning"('97). These books explore societal, political and generational economic history. It seems Dalio gets many of his ideas from these two books.

A: I've always said each of us stands on the shoulders of giants. I've also said there are no geniuses as there is nearly never anything new under the sun, but, on the other hand, I've also said each one of us is a genius in their own way if one is able to tap into their true talents since each of us is our fingerprint- truly unique. In comedy, in acting, in music, in writing, there is rarely anything that is genuinely new. Most everything is a product of the symbiosis between two or more things when they're combined in a certain way. That is often the mother of creativity. Likewise, even in technology, ideas beget ideas, thus most everything is an offshoot, building on prior inventions. Of course, certain transformational inventions such as the lightbulb, the airplane, the automobile, the combustion engine, the printing press, and the blockchain are certainly much more original than derivative creations of which most things are.
